2NE1 on their comeback, “A feel-good pressure…first concert in August”

These four girls who dream of freedom and power are once again announcing their revolt.

From the beginning, there’s been a good feeling. Park Bom’s solo song, Don’t Cry’ has swept several online and offline music charts, and they have prepared to once again seize the stage with their music and fashion.

Money Today Star News was on the scene of the recent music video shoot for 2NE1?s new song, Lonely, located on Nodeul Island on the Han River.

For this music video, the four members played the tragic female heroines, who were despaired by love and separation.

CL, wearing a brightly coloured leather jacket, was seized by grief. Sandara Park was extended the baton of separation. The voice of Park Bom, immersed in gloom added to the realistic acting of the youngest, Minji, after a break up. The story is quite unusual, and forms into one, as the four members together act as one female.

2NE1 showed their natural acting abilities, taking on the role of a female left alone after a party. The realistic movements of the members, trying to express their loneliness amongst a crowd, were the highlight.

Sandara Park evoked a feminine essence to her with her red leather jacket, and her hair swept to one side. The expressions that Minji, who was absorbed in gloom, put on with her eyes added to the deep feelings of separation. More than anything, the developing members’ styling and auras really gave off a unique feeling.

2NE1 hopes that there will be lots of anticipation for this new music video.

CL stated, “This music video is really interesting to watch.”, “It’s unique how the four members act as one, and it’s also interesting to see the member’s act after a breakup in harmony with the acoustic atmosphere.

Big Bang’s stylists reveals the member with sexiest body

Big Bang’s stylist recently revealed 2 insights concerning the members of popular idol group. They were, “The member who spends the most money on clothes,” and “The member who has the sexiest body.”

On March 24th, OnStyle’s “Style Magazine” will showcase the members of Big Bang in a photo shoot.

The members were told to express the image of a rock band as they were enjoying a secret party at a hotel after finishing their schedule. This photo shoot shocked many of the staff. Instead of showing the charismatic side, like they do on stage, they showed a beastly side of them where they emitted their sexiness.

The producer of this photo shoot, Yoo Jihee, said, “We are currently planning an event where the viewers will have a chance to win an album that contains the autographs of all the members of Big Bang. The viewers will have to take a picture of Big Bang’s face on the day this episode airs and all they have to do is upload it to Style Magazine’s homepage.”

The episode will be aired through OnStyle on the 24th at 11 P.M.

Big Bang remains strong despite long hiatus

Their new album has debuted on Billboard in Heatseekers Chart and World Album Chart. Moreover, TONIGHT also managed to be in Top 10 on iTunes Chart in America and Europe. Therefore, it has attracted public’s attention. BIGBANG has made their official comeback during an hour special, ‘The BIGBANG Show’ produced by SBS on February 27th. Moreover, on March 3rd, Mnet had also aired another special episode, ‘BIGBANG TV LIVE’.

However, from the interview done in YG Entertainment headquarter on March 4th, we know that they are burdened with their status as an idol group and as a senior in the music industry. They are also aspiring to become like their role model ‘C’est si Bon’ and transform into real musicians. During their long hiatus from Korean music industry, each member has become more mature.

G-Dragon said, “If we were said to be idols that were ‘growing’, then we are more like ‘musicians’ now. If we were said to be a group in the past, then this time, we can be said to be a collaboration of 5 individual artists and we cooperate and unite at this time.”

Taeyang also said, “TONIGHT’ is an album that we have been working on for 2 years and we have showed our full potential in it. We have become more matured and enjoyed more freedom in producing music and expressing our individual style in this album.”

When they debuted, they were crowned as ‘the musicians-like idols’ since they are able to produce their own songs, therefore, attracting much attention. In fact, BIGBANG has played a leading role in the music of the idol market nowadays.

From growing IDOL to perfect MUSICIAN

G-Dragon said, “I think that what we call as idols nowadays are those groups with 5-6 members who wear stylish clothes but they just deliver ‘formatted’ performances, like dancing and smiling according to a standard rule. GD&T.O.P has showed others that we can play on the stage with the music that we like.”

He further elaborated, “If we do so, then we can provide a better direction for the juniors. What we are doing is the music that we like. We are not producing music according to idol frame setting since we do not have the mindset that we must become ‘artist’ in the first place.”

TOP also said, “The crowd has certain expectation for BIGBANG’s ‘musician image’ more than our own individual image. We want to become group that others would feel close to and well-received.” It has already been 5 years since their debut in 2006.

In Korean music industry, it is almost like an unspoken rule that every top idol group would be broken up after 5 years. Thus, it is said that every popular group cannot evade this destiny. H.O.T which can be said to be the master of idol group was disbanded after 5 years and afterward, DBSK, the riding wave of second idol generation also had the same fate after 5 years.

Concerning this, BIGBANG has also shared their opinions with us.

Taeyang, “There are a lot of bad things happened last year and we have also come to the 5th year after we started working together. We have paid attention to the high possibility of idol groups being so easily disbanded these days. However, we think the solution lies in our love towards music. As long as the love that we share towards music does not change, we will not be disbanded.’

Break the ‘Disband-after-5-years’ rule by sincere communication

Daesung said, “After working together for 5-6 years, each of us would develop our mindsets and we would think that ‘we are right’. At this time, we would resolve our differences by communication. After communicating, we would adjust accordingly.”

Even if BIGBANG would change their individual activities direction in the future, they would still carry ‘BIGBANG’ name. One day they would be just like Rolling Stones in the film ‘Shine A Light’, holding a concert at their 60’s. They would like to be stars that grow up with the audience such as their role models, ‘C’est si Bon’ and others.

Regarding the fact that ‘TONIGHT’ has also garnered a place in foreign charts, G-Dragon said, “We are burdened because we feel that we are competing with foreign artists. We will work harder because of it and we want to try out more things in order to suit the markets of different countries.”

In the foreseeable future, although BIGBANG would still focus on Japanese market, it is high time that they start thinking of advancing to America. TOP expressed, “We do have ambition to advance into the overseas market. As long as the direction is clear, we would like to try it out.”

About the Japan tour that they would hold in May

G Dragon said, “The facilities that are provided by YG are as good as those found overseas. We can produce every genres of music we want here.”

Taeyang said, “The Hallyu wave has captured the attention from people all over the world. Riding with the Hallyu wave, we can let our music known by more people.”

Big Bang records early success with latest album

Big Bang made its first television appearance on Monday to promote the band’s fourth album, which is aptly named “The 4th Mini-Album.”

The veteran boy band gave a special hour-long performance called “The Big Bang Show” on SBS, signaling their return after a two-year absence.

Although it aired at midnight – well after prime time – all 30 ad spots were sold, showing that the group is still a moneymaker.

Big Bang performed songs from The 4th Mini-Album, along with some previous hits.

They also did a parody of the hit SBS drama, “Secret Garden.”

The album was released at record shops on Feb. 24 and on the Internet on Feb. 25. Two videos for the album were shot in Las Vegas.

The album immediately rose to the top of charts in Korea and abroad – hiting No. 10 on iTunes in the United States and No. 9 on the Canadian iTunes chart, YG Entertainment said in a press release on Friday.

In New Zealand and Finland, they have seen even better numbers – reaching No. 5 and No. 3, respectively, according to the press release.

The early success comes in spite of the fact that the group has not yet promoted the album outside of Korea and that all of the tracks were recorded in Korean.

Immediately after its release on Thursday, the album became No. 1 on many domestic online music charts, such as Melon, Dosirak, Cyworld and Bugs.

Big Bang’s latest album is the result of years of YG Entertainment’s philosophy of asking its artists to deliver Western-style pop, R&B and rap, but with a style all their own.

Although the usage of electronic sounds seems over the top – especially in their title song “Tonight” – the album does reflect the group’s unique characteristics.

The song “Cafe” is particularly notable in that it provides a fresh mix of midtempo beats with the subtle sound of a piano to accompany the group’s falsetto-style of song.

A special will air on Mnet titled “Big Bang TV Live” on March 3.

Girls’ Generation Step into Japanese Ad Market

Korean pop group Girls’ Generation will appear in a Japanese TV commercial for the first time since their debut there. Their management agency SM Entertainment said Tuesday that they have been selected to advertise the Japanese cough drop “e-ma Nodoame,” which is marking the 10th anniversary of its launch this year.

In a press event for the commercial held at Spiral Hall in Aoyama, Tokyo, UHA Mikakuto, the manufacturer of the product, said that it selected the girl group as their stylish appearance is in line with the image of the product.

The commercial to be aired nationwide in Japan starting Saturday will feature the girl band’s second single “Gee,” which topped Japan’s Oricon daily singles chart and took second place on the Oricon weekly singles chart.
