Yesterday, Chosun Online reported that Korean boyband SS501′s Kim Hyun Joong, scheduled to appear in Taiwan in June for the Golden Melody Awards, was in a car accident earlier. Luckily, his injuries were light, and after two weeks of rest will be back to normal, and won’t affect his plans to be in Taiwan.
Hyun Joong’s PR management agency DSP Entertainment revealed that on the afternoon of May 12th, Hyun Joong and one friend were in Gangnam-gu, Seoul when they were involved in a car accident, leading to injuries to his right ribs, and multiple scrapes on his body. A DSP Entertainment personnel also revealed that although his injuries were light, Hyung Joong will need to avoid vigorous activities such as dancing. Therefore, SS501 will not be singing dancing songs, and will be singing more ballad-type songs with soulful lyrics.
On the 22nd, “I Love You Korea: 2010 Dream Concert” will be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. SS501 will take this opportunity to make their comeback to Korea’s dance stage after 7 months. Their original plan also included a public performance of their new album’s debut song, but due to his injuries, it will have to be postponed.
